The Weight of My Mistake
I sat there in silence, staring at the paper.
The truth hit me all at once.
My wife had been innocent.
The child I abandoned had always been mine.
And the reason my family was gone had nothing to do with betrayal.
It was because of my own mistrust.
My pride.
My insecurity.
My refusal to question a single piece of paper.
In one moment of doubt, I had destroyed the life we built together.
Too Late for Forgiveness
I reached out to her immediately.
I tried to explain everything.
I apologized. I begged for forgiveness.
But some mistakes cannot simply be undone.
She had already rebuilt her life.
More importantly, she had rebuilt a safe world for our son—one that didn’t include the man who had walked away from him.
She never responded.
Her silence said more than words ever could.
